Tom Bradley West upgrade.

We built the electrical and low-voltage package for the west ticketing hall at Tom Bradley International Terminal, including a hundred foot LED screen carried across a seismic expansion joint.

Client type
Aviation
Location
Los Angeles, California
The west ticketing hall at Tom Bradley International Terminal, a daylit volume under a ribbed ceiling with airline check in counters down both sides and full height digital walls above them.

Two scopes

West ticketing hall
  1. Full build electrical and low voltage

The whole package for the hall rather than a trade slice inside somebody else's, which means the power and the low voltage were coordinated against each other from the start instead of being reconciled on site.

  2. The LED screen

A hundred foot screen carried across a seismic expansion joint. A joint exists so the building either side of it can move independently, and a screen spanning one has to keep working while it does. We believe it is the first of its kind.

The check in hall seen from the concourse, ribbed ceiling above, a wide digital display between the check in zones and the departure boards to the right.
The hallCheck in zones either side, with the displays and boards they are read from.
The concourse below the ticketing level, planting along a raised edge, a tall digital column reading Welcome to Los Angeles, and airline counters to the right.
The concourseThe level below, where the signage and the counters carry through.
